We are searching for a Delivery Engineering Manager to be a key technology leader and manager for technologies, strategies, solutions, and an engineering team which owns ensuring our delivery pipelines and models are modern and effective for our enterprise SDLC.
You'll need to have applied history of development knowledge in API's, microservices and integrations between tools and platforms, as well as a successful history as a leader in implementing DevOps solutions and culture for IT and software delivery.
In this impactful role, you'll be working in conjunction with peers and departments leaders such as software engineering, infosec, risk, and others to develop and promote automated delivery process, models, frameworks, and services. At a minimum this will encompass ownership of the practices and tooling from code commit through deployments. As your services and integrated solutions expand your impact, so will your ownership. You'll be hands-on with designing with your team and creating strategy and vision for your area and the enterprise.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Platforms, Tools and process ownership for
Source Code Management (SCM) using Git, including branch and model management, promotion models, gates, and policies.
Build processes and tools, as well as integrations and framework
Artifact and Package management relate to build and deployment
Release and Deployment models, templates, process, controls, and policies
Maturing Self-service automation capability on all the above
Provide solution design and development expertise to actively ensure accuracy and steering to the teams' deliverables and technology and design choices.
Integrating point solutions with other enterprise systems or data streams
Ensuring uptime, compliance, and maintenance on platforms and servers under ownership
Create and present on designs and technology subjects to wide variety of audiences
Ensure compliance with policies and controls. Participate in control audits as needed.
Uphold and enforce team and engineering best practices.
Manage backlog and tracking tools to ensure project progression, visibility, and productivity
Solicit feedback from peers and customers to improve teams products and value
Manage a collaborative community of consumer engineers to engender robust participation and engagement model.
Qualifications and Experience:
6+ years of experience in an engineering and technology leadership role
3+ years direct leadership of DevOps and/or software delivery solutions technologies
3+ years of managing an engineering, software, or IT team
4+ years in a software development role (SDE or SDET or equivalent)
Applied scripting/programming experience with languages such as Java, Typescript, JavaScript, Perl, Ruby, Python, Groovy, Bash, YAML and React framework.
Experience in micro-service development is a plus.
Experience with build tools like Maven and Gradle a plus
In-depth knowledge of software architecture, technical software design, and development process.
Deep understanding of SDLC and DevOps theory, patterns, and value
General technical knowledge of networks, distributed and mainframe platforms, and associated development environments.
Ability to use industry software design tools and software development tools.
General knowledge of web services, middleware, SOA and related technologies.
Deep knowledge of GIT
Strong experience with Windows and Linux-based infrastructure and administration.
Applied knowledge and experience with container technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher etc.
Working knowledge and experience with database admin basics such as SQL and MySQL and/or Mongo.
Project management skills and experience with workflow tools and methodologies such as Agile, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, etc.
Experience and a working knowledge with IaaC tools, a plus (i.e. Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technology and processes with team, management, and others.
Current with industry trends, and industry best practices. Ability and willingness to use that knowledge to drive innovative change.
Solid team player. Great relational skills for working across department lines with stakeholders of all types.
Proven ability to identify, analyze and solve problems
Bachelor's Degree or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience required

This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
