Zions Bancorporation is seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer with strong Customer Data Integration skills for an excellent opportunity within our Solutions Design team.  This team is transforming how the bank integrates, manages, and shares data assets through a common fabric.  We are in the early stages of this strategy which means this person will have the unique opportunity of influencing the design and approach and really make an impact!

Responsibilities

• Partner with data & integration product teams to architect, design and implement solutions and guide them toward adopting best practices and sound patterns
• Assessing current system architecture and collaborating with technical staff to identify areas for improvement
• Coordinate with business and product teams to understand overall project goals and timelines
• Makes decisions to improve design, define/refine requirements, and generate buy-in for our desired path forward
• Coordinate with Enterprise Architects and Data Solutions Engineers to utilize reusable solution design patterns that meet enterprise standards

Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.  
• At least 6+ years' experience in one of the following (can be a combination): 
  • Data Warehousing and data management
  • API & Stream Process Integration
  • Data Engineering (Big Data)
  • Cloud 
  • Software Development
• Solid understanding of Python and/or SQL 
• Strong experience working with architecture patterns 
• Understanding of Banking Applications/Domain 
• Comfortable communicating with teams via showcases/demos 
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills 

 
Plus (one or more)

• Previous Solution Engineer/Architect or Solution Design experience 
• 2+ years experience with Azure DevOps 
• Conceptual understanding of data governance capabilities (e.g. data catalog, classification, profiling, data sharing) 
• Experience with API and middleware technologies, such as Apigee, IBM ACE  
• Experience with Master Data Management 
• Agile Development Methodologies (e.g. SAFe, Kanban, Scrum) 
• Understanding of distributed systems, data structures, design principles, algorithms.

Location: 

This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT. 

The Zions Technology Center is a 400,000-square-foot technology campus in Midvale, Utah.
