Job Description:
At Regions, the Business Intelligence Analyst drives business decisions by providing quantitative and qualitative data analysis. This position applies data mining techniques and conducts statistical analysis to report key findings in-order to improve processes and provide data-driven forecasts of potential costs, risks, and profits of new business initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
Collects, aggregates, and analyzes complex data from multiple internal and external sources to drive insights into business performance
Assists in producing actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identifies areas of improvement for current operations, and displays root cause analysis of problems
Assists in enhancing data collection procedures and automation to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems and dashboards
Provides reporting solutions and responds to low-complexity ad-hoc report requests from the business unit
Assists business intelligence developers in the design and development of business intelligence reporting tools
Serves as an enterprise data liaison for the business unit
Assists in the preparation of visual reports/presentations to present analysis to key stakeholders
Partners with the centralized Data Governance team to implement and support data governance and data quality requirements
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, or related field
Preferences
Prior experience applying statistical skills such as distributions, statistical testing, and regression analysis
Prior experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau and QlikView
Prior experience using relational databases such as SQL and Oracle
Prior experience using query development, scripting, and programming skills such as Excel Power Pivot and Dax
Skills and Competencies
Ability to clearly articulate complex concepts, features, and benefits of analyses to any audience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
Strong work ethic and self-motivation
The Philanthropy Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for managing foundation grants and community investments to deliver better results. The analyst builds a framework for analysis of the breadth and depth of the impact of the foundation's portfolio. The analysis will generate insights to inform philanthropic strategy and to become a though leader in our philanthropic focus areas, both internally and externally.
Primary Responsibilities specific for this role:
·Manages Foundation Grants Portfolio:
oManages grants portfolio reporting and performance, both at the individual level and as a whole
oWorks with foundation and non-profit teams to develop and implement portfolio objectives and goals
oCreates strategic analysis framework for each strategic philanthropic priority (e.g., workforce development, small business development, housing, etc.)
oMeets with each grantee to create an impact report template that is informative and mutually beneficial
oEffectively implements portfolio management strategies and produces reports, analysis and insights that inform grant- making
oManages report collection and analyses, addresses, and responds to issues in a timely fashion and involves Foundation Operations Manager and Executive Director as needed, to balance relationship with grant reporting requirements
oIdentifies and disseminates benchmarks, and develops specific thought leadership in our philanthropic priorities
oPresents learnings and results to Audit and Finance Committee, Contributions Committee or Foundation Board, as appropriate
·Manages Foundation Impact Investment Portfolio:
oManages foundation impact investments reporting and performance
oWorks with foundation treasurer to ensure compliance to tax and accounting requirements
oPerforms due-diligence and documents decisions for impact investment opportunities
oSupports the success of portfolio loans and investments and assists in the ongoing learning, evaluation, and management of individual transactions and overall portfolio
oImplements and communicates investment related changes based on Investment Portfolio Statement and grant making strategies
oPresents learnings and results to Audit and Finance Committee, Contributions Committee or Foundation Board, as appropriate
·Creates Data Base for Grant Results
oDevelops data process, documentation, customizes IT systems, data base and user interfaces for grant results
oImplements data process to facilitate and amplify learnings and enhance portfolio management ongoing success
This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
