United Bank & Trust is seeking a candidate to fulfill a dual role as an Investment Representative, recommending investment solutions to clients, and as a Wealth Advisor, managing trust account relationships. This individual will office out of United Bank & Trust in Marshalltown, IA, but is a part of a team of trust and investment representatives at our affiliate banks. The team operates under the brand of First Point Wealth Solutions.
This candidate must possess the experience and expertise of either the trust or investment role, with the ability and willingness to learn and become licensed or trained in the other role.
Investment Representative Cultivate and maintain long-term client relationships by evaluating client’s financial needs, investment opportunities, current holdings and available investment capital and help them identify their investment objectives.
Develop and present sound financial solutions to clients.
Recommend investment solutions that are suitable for prospects and clients based on client needs, time horizons, risk profile and preferences.
Develop a book of business consistent with First Point Wealth Solutions goals for assets under management.
Provide periodic client reviews.
Maintain compliance with securities laws and regulations.
Wealth Advisor
Manage existing Financial Management & Trust Services account relationships and build relationships with prospective clients.
Meet with new and existing clients to discuss financial goals and objectives to establish a financial plan.
Work with the First Point Portfolio Manager to review client investment portfolios and recommend appropriate changes to clients.
Review trust accounts annually; including review of income, disbursements, assets, account goals and objectives and proper diversification. Complete annual court reporting, as needed.
Review fiduciary income tax returns.
Growth and Retention of Financial Management and Investment Accounts
Identify key strategies and activities that support profitable growth and retention of Financial Management and Investment accounts.
Build and maintain strong relationships with Bank personnel to facilitate referrals.
Profile current Bank clients to identify prospects with potential financial needs in the areas of investment and financial management, financial planning, retirement planning and estate planning.
Network, develop partnerships with centers of influence, and actively participate in community organizations and activities (often leadership roles) to facilitate referrals.
Additional Responsibilities:
Contribute as a member of assigned committees.
Identify referrals to Bank lines of business.
Assure confidentiality of customer information and adhere to all operational, security, risk and regulatory policies and procedures.
Assure the consistent delivery of customer service in order to maximize customer satisfaction and retention.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
Series 7 and 66 securities registrations required or acquired within 6 months.
Minimum 2 years Business Development or Sales experience preferred.
Minimum 5 years of Trust, Investment or related experience preferred.
State Life and Health license preferred.
Preference given to candidates with CFP or CTFA designation.
