Job Description:
At Regions, the Business Systems Analyst conducts business process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analysis in an effort to align information technology solutions with business initiatives. This position may function as liaison between the line of business and the Information Technology (IT) department.
Primary Responsibilities
Formulates/defines specifications for operating software programming applications or modifies/maintains complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from programs
Analyzes and evaluates existing or proposed systems and devises computer programs, systems, and related procedures to process data
Prepares charts and diagrams to assist in problem analysis and submits recommendations for solution
Prepares program specifications and diagrams and develops coding logic flowcharts
Encodes, tests, debugs, and installs the operating programs and procedures in coordination with computer operations and user departments
Reviews progress and evaluates results
Reports inconsistencies to the attention of management and suggest problem resolutions and business process improvements
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related experience
Or Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related experience
May require on call support rotation after hours and/or weekends
Preferences
Experience providing application support to include troubleshooting
Banking or financial services industry experience
Skills and Competencies
Actively demonstrates a complex working knowledge of systems and software development concepts, practices and procedures
Ability to plan, schedule and execute multiple concurrent activities
Excellent communication and customer service skill
Excellent organizational, and analytical skills
Problem solving and priority management skills
System Administration supporting all CRE technology; to ensure successful implementation and maintenance of applications,
including upgrades and/or new applications as needed in alignment with Regions IT compliance, standards, and policies
Undertakes complex analysis to develop the detailed requirements of the solution to satisfy the business need
Experience in project management with design concepts, implementation, and maintenance of moderately complex databases and software
Evaluates how users are working with the solution during the implementation phase and recommends that modifications
be made, where necessary
Performs important intermediate level analysis and works closely with the business clients to identify core business issues to
map out possible solutions
Advocates for the business clients on projects in all phases of the solution development lifecycle for each of the critical
stages, including initiation, analysis, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation follow up
Develops the business case for action, defining the need, the method, and the benefits of proposed solutions
Works closely with development team to refine the solution design, methods, and outcomes
Works closely with the testing team, using the requirements document as a critical guide, to ensure that issues are identified
and fully resolved prior to roll out
Experience with process improvement and/or change management
Prior experience working with Corp Real estate systems i.e., PM Web, CoStar, SharePoint, SQL Server, data warehouse/lake, Power BI, and space management tools
Previous experience with system / software administration
Working knowledge of database management
SQL experience
This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
