Job Description:
At Regions, the Financial Crimes BSA/AML Specialist supports the organization by conducting daily monitoring and reviewing of relevant alerts to ensure that Regions' compliance efforts are maintained to the highest standard. This position is responsible for resolving highly technical situations or issues.
Primary Responsibilities
Monitors and reviews system generated BSA/AML/OFAC reports/alerts and escalates issues and concerns when necessary
Documents and maintains findings in case management system
Provides reports to relevant financial government authorities
Requests additional information from internal teams and business leaders when necessary
Assists in the identification of complex schemes and transactional patterns
May take responsibility for due diligence activities related to account closing procedures
Assists management with special or complex projects
Assists team leadership in assessing skill gaps within team and assisting in team development
Offers advice and guidance to less-experienced specialists, ensuring they are equipped with the proper tools and knowledge to effectively conduct activities
This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Five (5) years of Financial Crimes, BSA/AML, Operations, or related work experience
Preferences
Bachelor's degree in related field
Knowledge of BSA/AML, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) related laws and regulations
Experience with case management systems and databases
Skills and Competencies
Ability to learn additional systems as needed
Ability to research and analyze data
Ability to work in a team environment when applicable
Internet searching proficiency
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Strong decision-making skills
Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
Strong work ethic and self-motivation
Candidates with strong communication and leadership skills are highly desired for this position.
Previous SharePoint experience will be beneficial for this role.
