Job Description:
At Regions, the Mortgage Servicing Rights Valuation Analyst monitors the portfolio quality, verifies modeling/data assumptions, and performs ongoing monitoring of mortgage servicing rights (MSR) valuation.
Primary Responsibilities
Coordinates the intake, mapping, and loading of portfolio data into data and modeling systems
Uses quantitative models to perform periodic valuation of the Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR) asset, adhering to Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) 820 accounting standards, and reports valuation results to stakeholders including senior management
Performs ongoing monitoring of MSR valuation, model assumptions, and backtesting of model performance to ensure reliable model output and valuation
Verifies modeling and data assumptions and works with leadership to make updates and changes when needed
Gathers and interprets information about the secondary mortgage market using statistical and analytical methods and techniques to gain insight and support pricing decisions
Supports portfolio managers in evaluation of loan portfolio acquisition through data assessment and analysis
Collaborates with business segments to provide analytics for strategic decision making and to identify risks in the portfolios/positions
Develops reports to monitor performance of portfolio using analytics software such as BlackRock AnSer, Quantitative Risk Management (QRM), Structured Query Language (SQL), and Statistical Analysis System (SAS)
Conducts data analysis to identify emergent trends in collateral performance across universe of loans
Receives instructions, guidance, and direction from senior level associates
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
One (1) year of experience in mortgage banking, real estate, or appraisal management industry
Skills and Competencies
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong attention to detail and sound decision-making skills
Strong customer service skills
This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
