Job Description:
At Regions, the Operational Risk Function Manager is responsible for ensuring that risk management is effectively implemented and executed within business operations through collaboration as a subject-matter expert and providing input on business and/or product decisions.
Primary Responsibilities
Contributes to the design, development, and implementation of major operational risk programs, policies, and procedures
Monitors, evaluates, and remediates operations risk/loss events including root cause analysis and process improvement
Maintains documentation and reports to management regarding execution and potential pain points, providing recommendations for error prevention
Provides requested information to regulatory agencies and monitors relevant compliance when necessary
Analyzes new business initiatives/projects and manages risk-related changes
Conducts annual training for stakeholders and provides advice/guidance on execution of operational risk management
Conducts presentations and workshop sessions on risk identification and mitigation
Monitors operational risk management program for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Remains current on evolving risks and trends related to operational risk
May serve as a liaison to internal and external auditors and Regions Data Foundation
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field or seven (7) years of experience in Finance, Risk Management, Operations, or related field
Or High School Diploma or GED and eleven (11) years of experience in Finance, Risk Management, Operations, or related field
Skills and Competencies
Ability to learn additional systems as needed
Ability to research, analyze data, and derive facts
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
Strong work ethic and self-motivation

Ability to support and challenge all businesses and products within the Capital Markets and Corporate Bank organizations
Ability to facilitate Risk Management Programs (Metrics, Risk Assessments, Scenario Analysis, Control Testing design, Issues Management, etc.)
Subject matter expertise on Operational Risks: Internal Fraud; External Fraud; Clients, Products and Business Practices; Damage to Physical Assets, Business Disruption and System Failure; Employment Practices and Workplace Safety; and Execution, Delivery and Process Management
Serve as an internal consultant to business partners on people, processes and systems
Ability to quickly understand and challenge processes to minimize risk and create process efficiency
Actively participate in working group settings
Experience with data analysis and visualization to identify, monitor and provide executive reporting of risks (preferred)
Experience in internal control over financial reporting (preferred)
