Pan American Bank & Trust has an opportunity for a Loan Operations Specialist located at our Melrose Park headquarters.
The Loan Operations Specialist is responsible for accurately processing all loan transactions, including payments, advances, payoffs, escrows, booking, maintaining and servicing loans. The Loan Operations Specialist will analyze and translate data from system records and notes, and set up and maintain data on the system for new and renewed loans. The Loan Operations Specialist will have substantial written and verbal contact with fellow colleagues at all levels within the loan department, as well as outside vendors, title companies, attorneys, trust companies and clients. At all times, the Loan Operations Specialist will facilitate and promote a positive client experience.

Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a college or university or 1 year of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a financial institution clerical and/or branch support background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
Basic experience, knowledge and training in branch operation activities, terminology and products and services.
Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies.
Good skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; host computer system; word processing and spreadsheet software; proficient with Microsoft products.
Experience with Jack Henry Core system preferred but not required.
Basic typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
Basic math skills; calculate interest and balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors.
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
Ability to deal with routine problems involving multiple facets and variables in standardized situations.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work with general supervision while performing duties.
