Overview
The Business Intelligence and Analytics manager provides analytical and technical support for business intelligence (BI) activities and is responsible for managing the Bank's Data Warehouse system and a portfolio of critical business intelligence tools and information that our key stakeholders rely on to effectively operate their businesses. This role will also work across business lines to help shape data strategy and support key strategic initiatives.
The Business Intelligence and Analytics manager is heavily involved with the distribution and successful delivery of all BI dashboards and reports, leverages data to gain key insight into business opportunities, and effectively presents these insights to business stakeholders. This position will ensure data integrity by implementing and socializing quality assurance best practices and perform any functions, within the scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to internal and external customers.
**This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule, three days in the office and two days remote.
Responsibilities
- Serve as point of contact for key business line data stakeholders. Manage stakeholder relationships and understand business needs to prioritize the enhancement, design, and development of data and reporting solutions.
- Collaborate with business line data stakeholders to clearly define the underlying business need for dashboards and/or reporting and translate findings into basic business requirements.
- Coordinate with business line data stakeholders to resolve any issues related to report generation and identify reports for rationalization and automation opportunities, ensuring that all of our reports and dashboards are created using efficient processes and for delivery and accuracy of reporting.
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain effective reports, visualizations, and dashboards that provide actionable information using business intelligence software and tools.
- Manages the delegation of work to team. Provides ongoing motivation, coaching, guidance, feedback and mentoring support to team.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of basic extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes that support proof of concept and/or initial delivery of business intelligence solutions.
- Partner with data owners within the business lines to fill in gaps in the data collected, and/or to adjust source-system data structures to facilitate analysis and integration with other Bank systems and data.
- Use advanced methods to analyze and interpret data from various sources with an outcome to help solve critical business needs for business lines.
- Establishes and serves as business line's "data analytic review" function to ensure the uniformity and quality of data, and that reports are delivered consistently to business partners.
- Develop and maintain technical specification documentation for the Data Warehouse, reports, and dashboards.
- Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data residing in the Bank's information systems.
- Perform all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines and in conformance with established Bank policies, procedures and objectives.
- Perform related and unrelated duties as may be required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline required.
- three to five years' hands-on experience working with large enterprise databases and business intelligence solutions, using programming languages including SQL, PL/SQL, and PowerBI to extract and manipulate data from disparate data sources.
- Minimum three years' experience in data analytics and business intelligence, working with Technology, Senior Management, Product Groups, Finance, Business Risk Management, and other cross-functional teams to deliver reports and dashboards.
- Minimum of two years' experience managing team member's daily tasks and assignments ensuring project/department milestones and goals are met.
- Prior experience within the financial services industry preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex information in an easy-to-understand manner with clear recommendations based on data insight.
- Ability to demonstrate effective organization, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must have schedule flexibility and be able to work extended hours and weekends.
