About The Job:
As a Cyber Security Analyst (CSA) you may have the flexibility for hybrid working arrangements and will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of securing the bank's various information systems. Reporting to the VP of Operations in IT, you will be tasked with providing technical expertise in all areas of network, system, and application security. You will work closely with the various teams in the Information Technology department to ensure that systems and networks are always designed, developed, deployed, and managed with an emphasis on strong, effective security and risk management controls.

What You Will Do:
- Defines vulnerability scan parameters and perform scans. Analyzes packet captures, log entries, and baseline deltas to determine if an intrusion occurred.
- Performs cloud based security for both Mimecast and Microsoft 365 for all services offered.
- Proactively monitors the environment, including monitoring online security-related resources for new and emerging cyber threats, to detect and implement steps to mitigate cyber-attacks.
- Assesses new security technologies to determine potential value.
- Provides technical expertise regarding security-related concepts to operational teams within the Information Technology Department and the business, including articulating security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
- Designs effective malicious software evasion and detection systems, identity and access management solutions, and backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Reviews scan reports for vulnerabilities in servers, applications, and network hardware.
- Analyzes vulnerabilities for impact to information security.
- Prioritizes mitigation of discovered vulnerabilities and documents efforts.
- Utilizes change management, log collection and correlation systems, and Security Information Event Management (SIEM) systems for IT infrastructure.
- Supports information retention and reporting for audit compliance and ensures that all key systems are logging events in our SIEM software at the proper levels.
- Actively participates in the Incident Response team meetings and participates in DR preparation and testing.
- Supports compliance with information security regulations and performs risk reviews for new and current vendors and reports findings.
- Responsible for the technical risk review of common cloud providers utilized by Independent Bank and our vendors and supports annual IT and Information Security risk assessments.
