POSITION SUMMARY:

The Credit Analyst is responsible for contributing to the loan decision-making process and providing in-depth credit analysis on new and existing clients for the Bank. The position will assist in maintaining loan files for adequate and current financial information and documentation sufficient to properly evaluate and document the creditworthiness of existing and prospective clients. Understands and completes job responsibilities in accordance with federal and state regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:    

• Ensure that all bank policies, procedures, and security measures are followed.
• Determine the creditworthiness of loan applicants.
• Prepare reports that include the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money
• Ensure that all approved applications comply with bank criteria.
• Complete loan applications, including credit analyses and summaries of loan requests, and submit to loan committees for approval.
• Generate financial ratios, using computer programs, to evaluate customers' financial status.
• Analyze financial data, such as income growth, quality of management, and market share to determine expected profitability of loans.
• Compare liquidity, profitability, and credit histories of establishments being evaluated with those of similar establishments in the same industries and geographic locations.
• Consult with customers to resolve complaints and verify financial and credit transactions.
• Evaluate customer records and recommend payment plans, based on earnings, savings data, payment history, and purchase activity.
• Assist with bank and client audits.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Work Experience – Minimum of 2 years’ relevant and transferrable work-related experience.
• Technology – Proficient using financial, analytical, banking, and Microsoft office suite software. Knowledge of Abrigo / Sageworks is considered a plus.
