Job Title: Senior Data Analyst Department: Information Technology Reports To: Chief Information Officer Supervises: Summary: The Senior Data Analyst role is responsible for maintaining data consistency and quality in banking systems, works with peers to develop workflows to streamline data input, and assist with data and system conversions. This role is also responsible for working with various departments to create and maintain complex or cross-functional reports and dashboards according to business needs.
POSITION-SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: •Architect and design appropriate data warehousing, report writers, and dashboardtechnology to meet business needs. •Troubleshoot and resolve data issues with business applications and systems, internal andoutsourced. •Work with banking systems providers to establish proactive improvements to reportingsystems and data warehouses. •Creates reports based upon requests from department managers. •Examines and evaluates content of business reports to develop new, or improve existingformat, use, and control. •Reviews reports to determine basic characteristics, such as origin and report flow, format,frequency, distribution and purpose or function of report. •Confers with persons originating, handling, processing, or receiving reports to identifyproblems and to gather suggestions for improvements. •Recommends establishment of new or modified reporting methods and procedures toimprove report content and completeness of information. •Prepares and issues instructions concerning generation, completion, and distribution ofreports according to new or revised practices, procedures, or policies of reportmanagement. •Trains bank staff on basic reporting system functions. •Project support, as needed. •Works closely with Business Managers and Business Analysts in determining priorities. •Maintains and follows IT Department procedures. •Understands and follows bank/department regulations, policies, and procedures, andparticipate in all compliance-related training. •Some travel to company offices may be required. •Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: •Bachelor’s degree in finance or technology or eight years equivalent experience preferred
•Six-year experience working in a banking or lending environment preferred
•Strong Mathematical and problem solving skills
•Excellent verbal/written communication skills and listening skills. Ability to communicate highly technical information to non-technical users
•Must be self-motivated with the ability to manage time, prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities
•Ability to analyze, research, and resolve technical problems
•Familiarity with the following areas: Bank Applications including core banking systems, Data Reporting Systems, Data Warehouses, Commercial Lending, Residential Lending, Consumer Lending, Customer Information Systems, Microsoft Excel Expert, Smartsheets, Project Management skills with an understanding of how to define, document and track goals, scope, resources, schedule, quality, testing, and communications.
