Responsible for planning, implementing and managing the information security program to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information technology environment in compliance with industry regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Create a balance of implementing sound risk controls and processes that protect information integrity without hampering the bank's ability to conduct business.
Oversee the vulnerability management program.
Develop and maintain information security risk assessments designed to evaluate inherent risks, controls, and residual risks. Effectively advocate within the business for security controls that mitigate unacceptable risks.
Provide security awareness training for employees and the Board of Directors.
Develop effective information security policies and standards. Monitor compliance and work with management to ensure policies are implemented effectively.
Serve as the liaison with state and federal authorities requiring information and reports on security incidents to appropriate agencies.
Ensure that appropriate security controls are considered during vendor selection and development efforts.
Monitor regulations and technology trends that affect financial institutions and develop plans for compliance.
Establish and maintain successful external relationships with security technology and service providers, industry experts, local and federal law enforcement, industry consortiums and regulatory agencies.
Provide supervision and mentoring to ensure successful outcomes of program activities.
Bachelor's or Graduate degree with background in information security and business management disciplines.
A minimum of 5 to 7 years information security related experience.
At least one of several relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISA or CISM or be willing to complete a relevant certification with 2 years of employment.
Experience managing projects or programs to achieve information security objectives.
Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people in a wide range of positions and levels.
Demonstrated ability to analyze security and technology control effectiveness.
Understanding of current technology and regulatory trends affecting financial institution information security programs.
Strong leadership skills including the ability to build high performing teams and lead change.
Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
