Responsible for reviewing, underwriting and decisioning applications for consumer mortgage loans related to home purchases, construction/permanent, HELOCS and refinance of residential mortgages.
Underwrites and provides final credit decisions on FNMA, FHLMC, and TFB portfolio products within established credit policy and quality standards.
Maintains a daily workload as needed to ensure prompt turnaround times as established by Department Manager.
Underwrites and decisions a minimum of 20 loans per month.
Maintains knowledge of Agency and Portfolio underwriting guidelines to remain current with internal and secondary market investor requirements.
Enters complete and accurate data in TFB loan systems to ensure consistency and timeliness of data integrity.
Provides prompt and exceptional service to the Loan Origination team and other colleagues in a friendly and professional manner consistent with TFB’s culture.
Acts as an advisor for residential lending team members on matters related to origination, loan processing, document preparation and loan closing instructions.
Familiarity and compliance with all consumer related policies and procedures, to include but not limited to RESPA, ECOA, FDPA, HMDA and CRA.
Familiarity with ARTA underwriting software and the Encompass loan operating platform.
Ensures Fair Credit, Privacy, BSA, RESPA, CRA and Reg. B compliance.
This job requires that the associate gain a working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements and how they will affect their work. The associate will comply with all requirements of the BSA and cooperate with the designated BSA Officer in assuring compliance.

Education: Knowledge of business administration and/or banking as would normally be acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent experience. Specialized knowledge of appraisals, construction lending, mortgage lending and consumer lending.
Strong organizational, analytical, people and problem solving skills;
Strong time management skills; Must be detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks, meeting required deadlines;
Must know Microsoft Office and Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Prior Experience:Level I – Approximately five, or more, years of mortgage lending experience. Level II - Approximately ten or more years of mortgage lending experience.
Problem Solving: Job requires a high level of problem-solving to find solutions to difficult customer and loan related issues.
Internal/External Contacts: Internal/external contacts necessary to effectively negotiate, persuade, or present issues to others in the bank or community.

Physical Requirements: Sitting for long periods of time, using computer for long periods of time, occasional lifting of over 5 pounds.
