Provide leadership and execution of the company’s human resources functions. Develop and implement HR strategies, processes and programs, including: employment, training/development, performance management, compensation administration, benefits administration, employee relations and enrichment, and affirmative action. Insure all HR programs support Bank's goals and satisfy regulatory compliance and sound management practices.
Develop and implement employee relations activities, including attitude surveys, communications, bank-related social activities, employee enrichment and service recognition program, all to maximize employee morale.
Develop and maintain appropriate management reports to include turnover statistics and applicable Affirmative Action reports. Complete all regulatory reporting as required (i.e. EEO-1, VETS-100, Labor stats, etc.).
Work with management and employees in solving problems, complaints and in planning and managing human resources development, insuring fairness and objectivity.
Maintain an awareness/understanding of peer bank HR and related strategies, in order to effectively contribute to the Bank’s overall strategy development.
Serve on the following committees as a voting member: 401(k) Administrative Committee and Bank Management Committee.
Directly supervise Training and Development Officer.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or Business Psychology or a related degree
5 years previous banking experience and 5 years experience as HR Administrator, Officer or Analyst
Excellent skills in management techniques, counseling, and organizational development
Understanding of human behavior, psychology and motivational processes
Skilled in human relations, organization and planning, oral and written communications, interviewing and listening
Excellent knowledge of HR-related regulatory requirements and business practices
Ability to set priorities, work under pressure, detail oriented, common sense, objective reasoning
Microsoft Office and ability to learn the bank’s core processing system and other programs, as needed
Manage with fairness and compassion
Prior banking experience preferred.
