Zions is seeking an International Relationship Manager (International Banker) in San Antonio, TX to join the International Banking team. This role is responsible for soliciting and developing commercial opportunities with companies involved in international trade, while minimizing risks, and meeting all KYC requirements. International Banking is a full-service lending group with expertise in financing solutions focused on exporters, importers, U.S. subsidiaries of foreign parent companies, and international corporates.

The ideal candidate for this position will have the skills and experience necessary to: 

  • Responsible for developing strong, low risk commercial relationships while maintaining quality customer service.
  • Experience in selling Trade Finance solutions, including EXIM Bank programs, Foreign Direct Investment, Trade Cycle Finance, Supply Chain Finance, Credit Insured Lending, Export Trade Services, Letters of Credit and Foreign Exchange.
  • Acts as the principal account and relationship manager for new and existing clients.
  • Maintains a high level of client satisfaction by generating, managing, and servicing a portfolio of clients.
  • Develops, generates and follows-up on new client leads through existing clients and referrals from other bank departments.
  • Calls on existing relationships to review portfolios and makes recommendations as needed.
  • Responsible for sales, credit analysis, proper loan structuring, client interviewing and perceptive character judgment
  • Experience dealing with companies transacting business internationally, whether importing or exporting.
  • Cross sell other bank products.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

Requires a Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or a related field and 2+ years of experience in selling financial services products in Trade Finance and Foreign Exchange or other directly related experience. Experience with working capital guarantee loans or other credit enhanced financing is preferred. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.

  • Formal credit training required. Commercial credit analysis, spreading and analyzing financial statements, credit scoring, documentation, etc.
  • Working knowledge of credit and lending practices and specific international trade products and banking services, including depository services.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial loans, credit and/or related lending processes and procedures is required.
  • Working knowledge of working capital guarantee loans or other credit enhanced financing.
  • Ability to develop advisory relationships with clients, prospects and bankers.
  • Solid customer relations and business development skills.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Solid problem resolution, decision making and negotiation skills.
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent in Spanish is preferred.
