Chief Operations Officer
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) organizes, plans, and manages the day-to-day retail banking activities and operations, collaborating with the President and CFO on overall administration.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and create operations policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations in the deposit and operations departments
- Advises President/CEO on best practices, ensures internal controls are in place, and develops appropriate policies
- Review and interpret new and pending laws and regulations, working with Executive Committee for strategic planning to enhance compliance
- Maintains relationships with regulators by complying with requests, providing reports, and facilitating examinations in a timely and accurate manner
- Responsible for coordinating and managing audit engagements related to deposit and operations departments
- Maintains administrative parameters for bank platforms and other systems
- Communicates operations issues and/or risks associated with the entire organization
- Manages operational areas at every level of the bank: deposit and loan operations, compliance, BSA and fraud
- Collaborates on research and development of new deposit products
- Maintains records retention and retrieval programs
- Provides leadership to multiple departments and manages a high-performance staff

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or operations management
- 10+ years in banking/finance industry
- Extensive leadership experience across multiple locations
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficient knowledge of Risk Management procedures, federal and state compliance regulations and other Bank operational policies
- Experience managing IT strongly encouraged
- Strong organization and time management skills
