CFC has a need for an Accountant II - Loan Operations to join the Accounting team. This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work at our headquarters office in Sterling, VA, as well as optional remote workdays. The Accountant II - Loan Operations applies accounting knowledge within the loan accounting group through successful use of accounting rules and concepts (GAAP).  This person is responsible for loan activity for commitments, loans and fees through their life cycle which includes processing, reconciliation, journal entries and financial reporting. 

As an Accountant II - Loan Operations, you will:
• Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of commitment, loan and fee information.
• Perform daily sub-ledger reconciliations.
• Responsible for generating journal entries, General Ledger account reconciliations and financial reporting schedules.
• Respond to internal and external customer questions and requests.
• Adhere to loan accounting SOX 404 controls.
• Resolve commitment and loan related data problems within the loan accounting system.
• Generate a high volume of invoice related data and resolve any issues that may arise.

To be successful, you will need:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• Working toward CPA eligibility preferred.
• Minimum two years of accounting experience required. 
• Previous financial institution experience preferred.
• Knowledge of automated accounting systems.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to analyze loan documents.
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to complete multiple, competing tasks under deadlines.
