Job Summary:
The primary responsibility consists of originating residential mortgages, ag, commercial, real estate and consumer loans in the Madison County / Des Moines metro markets and managing an assigned portfolio of $20M.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned $20M portfolio by attracting, expanding and retaining commercial, small business, and retail loan and core deposit relationships.
- Lead secondary market residential lending.
- Participates in business development by calling on existing and prospective clients in the Madison County and Des Moines Metro markets.
- Manage loan portfolio and monitor client’s financial condition, loan performance and repayment history.
- Ability to organize and target existing and prospective clients utilizing direct calls, business networking and partnerships with other USB bankers.
- Cross sells all business and consumer deposit products and services.
- Accept other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Comprehensive understanding of secondary market loans and business financial statements, tax returns and credit approval process.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills in order to maximize business contacts and develop a working relationship with potential and current bank clients.
- Ability to provide clients with a high level of individualized service and strategies consistent with their individual and business goals and needs.
- Excellent problem solving, networking, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook. Preferred experience with FHLB MPF, Wolters Kluwer Lending and Fiserv software programs.
- Represents the bank in community organizations and activities to enhance the bank's image and maintain a referral network for business development opportunities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrate excellent work ethic, ability to multitask and effectively work with all bank employees.
- Four-year University or College bachelor’s degree in business or finance.
- Minimum ten years of lending experience is preferred.
- Position requires a background and credit check.
- Interest in community banking.
