Basic Function

This role is an administrative position that supports the Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) mission to develop and maintain relationships with community leaders and non-profit organizations throughout Lake and Cook Counties.This role is also responsible for providing support for the planning and organizing of internal and external events as directed by the Events & Community Relations Officer. This also includes business development opportunities through promotional items and gifts.

 

Essential Duties

  1. Community Reinvestment Act Grants/Donations: The Community Relations Coordinatorwill be responsible for vetting and processing donation and grant requests within the set budget guidelines of the Foundation using the third-party software, Kadince.
    • Review and research all donation requests submitted via Kadince for Community Reinvestment Acteligibility
    • Review requests with VP/Director of Marketing & Community Relations
    • Submit approved requests to CEOfor final review and approval
    • Manage all correspondence and provide monthly and quarterly reports to proper channels
    • Seek continuous education opportunities and training with Kadince
       
  2. Community Reinvestment Act Community Service: The Community Relations Coordinator will cultivate relationships throughout the Bank’s Assessment Area with non-profit organizations that align with our Community Reinvestment Act efforts and share volunteer opportunities with Officers and staff. The Community Relations Coordinator will also be an active member of the Community Advisory Committee.
    • Research community service opportunities and work with Officers to fill Board positions
    • Coordinate with Bank employees to staff volunteer events
    • Manage all correspondence and provide reports to proper channels
    • Monitor and approve submitted Community Reinvestment Act volunteer hours in Kadince
    • Serve as Secretary to the Community Advisory Committee
       
  3. Community Art Wall: The Community Relations Coordinator will utilize non-profit connections and relationships as a resource for creating a monthly schedule for the community art walls.
    • Manage all correspondence and art wall calendars
    • Schedule survey meetings with prospective exhibitors
    • Manage all documents and release forms
    • Schedule set up and tear down of Art Wall exhibits
    • Schedule all pre and post event activities
    • Create social media posts highlighting art wall exhibitors
       
  4. Administrative Support for Events: The Community Relations Coordinator will provide administrative support for all internal and external events as Directed by the Events & Community Relations Officer.
    • Assist with internal and external events
      • Event RSVP list and pre-event communications
      • Organized departmental mailing lists
      • Administrative/clerical support for event (bios, name tags, folders, etc.)
      • Post event communications
         
  5. Administrative Support for Business Development: The Community Relations Coordinator will provide administrative support for business development initiatives as directed by the Events & Community Relations Officer.
    • Promotional items and client gifts
      • Organize promo inventory for each branch
      • Fill departmental requests for promotional items and gifts
    • Holiday Gifts
      • Manage departmental mailings list
      • Assist with packaging gifts
      • Coordinate post office runs
         
  6. Miscellaneous Responsibilities
    • Attend non-profit events
    • Non-profit site visits/video calls
    • Community Reinvestment Act continuous education
    • Reconcile Marketing and Foundation credit cards monthly
    • Maintain Website Links Monitoring Log (qtr)

Nonessential Duties

  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent MS Office 365 skills, particularly Word, Excel, Teams, Planner, Forms, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Excellent computer skills are a must
  • Must be able to lead discussions in person and on camera, public speaking skills a must
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills a must
  • Strong written communication skills a must
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills are a must
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be self-disciplined
  • Ability to change direction and prioritize work
  • Ability to multi-task while meeting multiple deadlines

 

Training & Experience

  • High school diploma or college degree
  • 1 to 2 years of administrative experience is required
  • 1 to 2 years of non-profit experience is preferred
  • Community Reinvestment Act compliance knowledge a plus
  • Project management experience a plus
  • Marketing or Communications experience a plus
  • Social Media experience a plus
  • Design skills a plus
