We are seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test to lead, design, and develop automated scripts that will be executed across various banking applications. 

 

The Engineering and Core Services organization is at the heart of innovation at Zions Bancorporation. We continually modernize many of Zions' key banking applications and its banking core. In addition to application development, we manage the key platforms, services, and processes which enable modernized engineering and IT operations and delivery through DevOps and lean principles. As an individual contributor of Zions' Test Automation Center of Excellence, the Test Engineer would also have the following responsibilities:  

  • Write code, scripts or procedures to test systems and/or controls.
  • Ensure proper procedures and controls are in place throughout the development process
  • Review engineering deliverables, and ensures proper procedures and controls are in place
  • Responsible for reporting and tracking issues.
  • Responsible for planning, design and development of appropriate automated tests for all areas of responsibility.
  • Design, Develop, setup and maintain automation frameworks
  • Responsible for setting, planning, designing, and implementing the automation architecture and development strategies
  • Responsible for code review and compliance to automation standards
  • Participate in improvement of automation standards and ensure implementation with relevant teams
  • Train/mentor other automation engineers
  • Champion quality and automation within the enterprise
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of programming, developing automation, creating automation frameworks or other directly related work experience. 
  • Extensive experience with software test automation tools, software design methodologies, automation frameworks, platforms, related systems and technologies.
  • Proficient in Java, vbscript, Python, TestNG, JUnit
  • Proficient in SQL and relational databases
  • Extensive experience with REST and SOAP services
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or closely related discipline
  • Must have strong analytical, organizational, problem resolution, customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with BDD and TDD practices and tools (Serenity, Cucumber, jbehave)
  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops (repos, builds, pipelines), Jenkins, Chef, XL Release, Maven
  • Experience with containers
  • Experience with cloud technologies
  • Ability to make sound decisions and recommendations.

A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.

 

Location:  This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
