The Director of Commercial Real Estate and Facilities Management will sit at our Corporate HQ in Torrey Pines, San Diego and will report directly to the CEO. This role will require local and state-wide travel. 

 

Essential Functions:   

  • Leads a team of professional facilities staff including project managers, administrative personnel, and other seasoned corporate CRE professionals.  

  • Oversees the property acquisition process, including leasing as well as the purchase of property. Coordinates the opening and closing, and relocation of branches within the state.  

  • Participates in the development and implementation of the Bank's branch strategy with respect to locations around the state. Manages bank and leased properties and related projects.  

  • Negotiates business terms and merger/acquisition due diligence investigations of all leases and Purchase & Sale Agreements. Serves as primary liaison for Property Management and vendor security clearances.  

  • Supervises projects to include coordination with construction management on renovations, workstation modifications, moves, and changes.  

  • Oversees the individual responsible for the development of the annual Facilities Capital and Operating Expense Budget.  

  • Responsible for the oversight and implementation of the budget each year, including the allocation of internal resources efficiently and cost-effectively. Responsible for prioritizing upgrades and renovations to improve efficiency. 

  • Lead and supervise the Project Manager responsible for various large projects, from planning and design through execution and completion. Manages graphics and signage standards, participating in design, fabrication, and installation.  

  • Partners with internal customers to plan facilities/space needs (reorganization, growth, or reduction), both for short term and long-term needs.    

  • Manages corporate aesthetics program.  

  • Requires operating a motor vehicle and maintaining a valid driver's license with a good driving record.    

  • Other duties as assigned.  

 

 

Qualifications:    

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 10+ years directly related experience.  Managerial experience required with directly related facilities management experience. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.  

  • Design and working with design and architecture firms is preferred.  

  • Extensive knowledge of building and property maintenance and construction functions.  

  • Ability to work with and negotiate long term commitments with outside vendors.  

  • Must have strong customer service, communication, decision making, and planning skills.  

  • Ability to coordinate and supervise construction/maintenance projects.  

  • Ability to meet deadlines and resolve problems.  

  • Requires extensive knowledge of asset management, building systems, contracts, compliance, permits and legal agreements.  

  • Requires operating a motor vehicle and maintaining a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

 This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $139,000 - $240,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience.
