The Compliance Analyst supports IBA member bank regulatory compliance functions by providing assistance via consultation on regulatory, legal and operational issues for IBA member banks.  Use independent judgement and discretion to analyze banker situations/scenarios providing suggestions for application of regulatory requirements and interpretations and suggesting methods for correction or improvement. 

  • Provide advice to member banks within an appropriate time frame on regulatory compliance matters via questions submitted to the compliance hotline (via email, phone or fax) - researching regulatory and legal publications, exercising discretion and independent judgement  to formulate an interpretive response for possible courses of action by the member based on the situation presented and maintaining a log of responses into the call-tracking database.  Issues encompass lending, deposit, operations and Bank Secrecy compliance functions, policy, disclosure and procedure review and analysis.
  • Independently develop and deliver customized training materials for member banks, onsite training events, conferences, schools and conventions.
  • Research and author articles for Disclosure magazine, Exchange, and other web-based compliance publications.  Create regulatory compliance resources or other products/services of value to the department or members.
  • Read large volume of trade and regulatory publications to keep informed of regulatory compliance issues.
  • Attend appropriate training and/or conference events to meet continuing education requirements for maintaining professional designation(s).


Required Education: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university.

Required Work Experience: Five years of bank compliance management or regulatory supervisory activity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Technology Skills: Proficiency with MS Office applications

Required skills or traits for the position: Oral/written communication; ease in handling multiple priorities.

Specialized training/certifications: CRCM preferred.
