POSITION SUMMARY
The Lender is responsible for identifying and soliciting individuals and business organizations that are prospective borrowers, depositors and consumers of the Bank’s financial service offerings. The Loan Officer will also oversee assigned client relationships including maintenance of credit quality, meeting of financial return objectives and retention through delivery of quality services. In meeting these duties, the Loan Officer will represent the Bank to the local marketplace through recurring involvement in community and professional organizations.

The Loan Officer will also oversee assigned client relationships including maintenance of credit quality, meeting of financial return objectives and retention through delivery of quality services. In meeting these duties, the Loan Officer will represent the Bank to the local marketplace through recurring involvement in community and professional organizations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Solicit business for commercial loans and lines of credit.
- Compile and analyze data for loan requests, including credit reports, appraisals, background checks, reference checks and other information.
- Deliver complete loan request to proper authority for approval.
- Outline loan terms and conditions and inform borrowers of loan commitments.
- Close loan transaction.
- Solicit clients for deposit accounts and other financial services offered by the bank.
- Represent all the staff and services of the bank on an outreach basis through calling, participation in business, volunteer and civic organizations.
- Be knowledgeable about competitive service offerings and provide introduction to appropriate bank employee.
- Manage assigned loan portfolio in conformance with loan policy and underwriting guidelines.
- Maintain contact with loan clients and be sensitive to indications of financial weakness or of opportunities created by their success and be proactive in response to these indicators.
- Maintain knowledge of bank policies, laws and regulations with respect to risk management and compliance.
- Keep senior credit officers within bank informed of changes in the risk characteristics of credits or borrowing relationships assigned.
- Keep informed of industry, business or economic trends in the community that could adversely affect the bank’s loan portfolio.

- Participate in the planning and execution of training sessions.
- Participate with community organizations and in community projects as called upon.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in the financial services industry is required.
- Must be able to perform appropriate analyses of borrowers.
- Ability to carry out complex instructions in relation to regulatory and legal requirements.
- Ability to manage and direct other team members.
- Personal skills. (Communication, professionalism, interpersonal)
WORK CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work from auto as well as office and home.
- This position must be able to sit for long periods of time as the position involves the majority of time spent at a computer.
- Travel required.
