Position Overview
As our new Municipal Relationship Banker, you will perform a variety of duties to ensure efficient and effective service for Municipal customers.
Essential Duties
- Supports the Municipal Client Relationship Managers by assisting customers in all aspects of their banking needs including cash management services such as Remote Deposit and Positive Pay.
- Responds to all customer inquiries and resolves product or service problems by clarifying the customer’s complaint; determine the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution. Refers questionable issues to the Government Banking Manager.
- Prepares documentation packages to open new accounts ensuring all required documentation is accurate and complete.
- Opens new accounts and completes all scanning of documentation for easy retrieval of documents in Identify.
- Assists with online banking, ACH including pass through payroll files, and wire transfers after properly identifying the customer and/or collecting necessary paperwork to process transactions. Enters appropriate service events in Insight and tracks return events to ensure completion of initial transaction.
- Review daily State Aid Reports and research reports for missed items requested by a Municipality.
- Complete daily morning work including balance reports, ACH returns and NSF’s
- Performs daily filing and scanning tasks, transactions including deposits, transfers, stop payments, and updates. Maintains office reference tools, such as updating contact information, email lists, and internal reporting.
- Prepares product and service reports by collecting, analyzing, preparing and distribute accordingly. These various reports are prepared and distributed to management, Municipal Client Relationship Managers, or customers weekly, monthly or quarterly. These include but are not limited to Interest Allocation Reports, Trust Reports and Account Reconciliation Reports for customers.
- Immediately notifies Municipal Client Relationship Managers and staff of personnel changes in treasurer’s office requiring new signatures and prepares package for delivery.
- Assist with UFASI wire processing, verification and call backs.
- Maintains knowledge of, and complies with all regulatory issues, with regard to Massachusetts General Law.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Training and Work Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; College degree preferred
- Minimum of two years prior banking and customer service experience required.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to pick up on new programs easily.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as, proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Demonstrated ability to handle challenging customer situations with poise and tact.
- This position requires dependability, organization and decision-making.
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving ability, be able to multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
