POSITION SUMMARY: Serves as a member of the branch leadership team, overseeing the efficient operation of the branch and adherence to all established controls. Ensures all operational functions are properly performed by branch team members. Manages Tellers and mentors Relationship Bankers as it relates to operational responsibilities. Adheres to bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Emulates the Bank’s defined Service Standards. Consistently provides exceptional service to all customers representing the Bank in a courteous, professional, and friendly manner.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads the branch’s operational integrity in collaboration with the Branch Manager. Accountable and responsible for ensuring branch’s adherence to the Bank’s operational policies and procedures. Branch subject matter expert on all policies, procedures, and the core banking system.
- Schedules branch staff to ensure adequate branch coverage. Opens and closes the branch.
- Manages and develops Tellers. Trains and mentors new Relationship Bankers related to transaction and operation-based skills.
- Serves as first line of escalation for transaction overrides. Assists branch team with decisioning policy and procedure exception requests.
- Processes customer transactions. Originates wire transfers within assigned limits; issues/approves bank checks within assigned limits. Occasionally assists customers with sales and service-related requests.
- Serves as custodian for the main vault. Performs cash shipments and related duties. Responsible for settlement of ATM and cash recyclers. Administers the branch’s Safe Deposit control program.
- Liaises with Deposit Operations, Risk Management, BSA, Loan Servicing, Accounting, and all other control functions to resolve operational challenges. Builds and maintains strong inter-departmental partnerships.
- Leads branch participation in branch audits as it relates to operational activities.
- Serves as primary contact for Security Officer and manages alarm testing and response for assigned branch.
- Keeps branch team informed of pertinent changes in operational policy and procedures. Participates in branch meetings and huddles; shares applicable content. Serves as a positive change agent.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages Tellers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is often performed in an office environment, with frequent interruptions. Ability to remain in a stationary position, move inside the workplace, operate a computer, and exchange information. Occasionally required to move coin of approximately 50lbs. Must be able to positively discern and identify an individual. Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekend and evening work. Required to travel locally.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Associate degree in related discipline or equivalent years of experience.
MINIMUM PRIOR EXPERIENCE: 4-6 years in related banking operations experience and supervisory experience.
