CNB is looking for a qualified, motivated, and client- and team-focused individual to join our team as a Mortgage Loan Originator in our Hillsdale, Main Office location.
JOB SUMMARY
The Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) proactively solicits new residential mortgage business and sells County National Bank products to meet established loan quality and production goals.
In this on-going sales role, the MLO continually identifies, develops and maintains a quality network of business relationships that serve as a recurring source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities. A MLO's network may consist of real estate professionals, builders, professional and personal contacts, and is enhanced by the MLO's regular participation in business related development opportunities, community efforts to promote homeownership and professional organizations.
The MLO responds to customer inquiries and referrals that are generated from both their own contacts and from other County National Bank business channels. The MLO conducts interviews with prospective borrowers in order to analyze financial and credit data, determines customer financing objectives, advises customers of products/pricing policies and guidelines and gather any additional required information. The MLO ensures exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics, complying with all Federal and State compliance policies and adhering to HMDA requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops Business Referral Network and maintains successful relationships through marketing, cold calling, prospecting, and networking activities.
- Prospects new mortgage lending opportunities.
- Meets with customers as necessary during various stages of the loan process.
- Participates in community efforts to promote home ownership and County National Bank.
- Answers internal and external telephone calls.
- Meets with prospective borrowers.
- Reviews/analyzes credit and financial data.
- Determines borrower(s) financing objectives and goals.
- Presents/originates appropriate County National Bank products and programs and explains guidelines.
- Assists customers with application and processes/obtains all required signed disclosures.
- Appraises of pricing and lock rate.
- Identifies appropriate opportunities to cross-sell additional Bank products.
- Collects supporting loan documentation as required and provides complete package to Mortgage Loan Department for processing within the required time frames.
- Attends mortgage closings at local Title Companies.
- Exceeds borrower expectations and referral partner's expectations on a consistent basis.
- Communicates and obtains underwriting conditions.
- Manages and maintains mortgage pipeline.
- Communicates effectively with clients, realtors and referral partners on the progress of the loan application.
- Responds to processors, underwriters, closers and other CNB support staff in a timely manner.
- Attends bank committee meetings as necessary.
- Maintains current and thorough knowledge of all lending programs, policies and procedures.
- Becomes knowledgeable and complies with all State and Federal regulatory requirements including Bank Secrecy Act and all others specific to this position.
- Maintains and protects confidentiality of customer information.
- Maintains regular, on-time attendance.
- Remains current in assigned training and continuing education for designation retention (online, video, in-house emails, telephone seminars, etc.).
- Performs other various duties as assigned.
- Communicates on a regular basis with other loan support staff and internal referral partners.
- Communicates on a regular basis with insurance agencies, title companies, realtors, attorney offices and credit reporting agencies.
Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of mortgage lending experience with a focus on generating self-sourced business preferred.
- Experience with Freddie Mac, FHLBI, GRH, MSHDA and government lending is preferred.
- Understanding of Federal Regulations governing Real Estate Lending.
- Understanding of basic accounting procedures and mathematics with the ability to analyze and comprehend complex financial data and provide financial alternatives.
- Passion for providing a stellar customer service experience to all customers (external and internal) and ability to instill this passion in others.
- Excellent interpersonal skills (tactfulness, cooperation, courteousness and customer friendliness) are necessary to represent the bank in a positive and professional manner.
- Positive and cooperative approach when working with others.
- Excellent written communication skills with demonstrated ability to write clearly, concisely and effectively, with attention to detail for visually appealing output and accurately proofreading publications.
