Responsible for underwriting and credit administration activities supporting the Business Banking and Consumer loan business units. Individual will be underwriting credit requests for small businesses, not for profits, real estate entities and sophisticated consumer loan requests originated in Private Banking. The individual will also act as a backup for underwriting duties within our consumer loan department.
Gathering of client financial information
Performing financial analysis and preparing a comprehensive loan presentation for approval by Senior Management
Responsible for documentation duties relating to the underwriting including obtaining credit bureau reports, appraisals, collateral information and organizing the borrower’s credit file
Communicates clearly with Department Manager and Senior Management and understands fundamental credit requests
Interacts with existing and prospective clients
Performs accurate and insightful financial analysis based upon data from complex financial statements and tax returns
Identifies underwriting exceptions to bank’s credit policy and procedures
Prepares an accurate and comprehensive Loan Presentation for Department Manager and Senior Management approval
Analyzes appraisals and credit bureau reports and performs additional due diligence when appropriate
Prepare compliance related documents (HMDA, CRA, Adverse Action Forms)
Performa certain credit administration duties related to the portfolio such as following up on financial reporting requirements, loan covenants and annual portfolio reviews
Other duties as assigned

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
College degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Previous credit training and/or business financial services experience
2-5 years’ experience as a credit analyst in business banking
