Forreston State Bank is currently seeking a Universal Banking position that will provide outstanding service to our current customers while gaining new customer business by exceeding all their service expectations. This position is an extensive role in which the individual will process all new account transactions, assist customers in their selection of various accounts while cross-selling the bank’s products and services. The position of Universal Banker is also required to engage in service activities such as check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, opening and closing accounts, answering customer inquiries, as well as direct calls to the appropriate staff.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
Universal Banker responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Create an exceptional customer service atmosphere, address customers with patience and attentiveness, and have clear communication skills.
Be responsive, accurate and timely with correspondence and problem resolution.
Perform daily office responsibilities including a variety of bank transactions including checking, savings, and loan transactions to maintain the efficient operation of the bank.
Processes all new account transactions; assisting customers in their selection of various accounts and financial services; cross-selling the Bank's products and services; opening, maintaining and closing of all account types; promoting business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services
Initiate conversations to understand a customer’s financial needs and offer appropriate products and services on a need-based assessment. Maintain an effective knowledge of bank products and services.
Accepting assignments and seeking additional projects to contribute to the effectiveness of a team environment.
Serves as backup Universal Banker in all locations of Forreston State Bank branches
Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of bank policy and procedures in order to perform the necessary duties to ensure compliance.
Associate Degree in related field, or equivalent education, training and experience.
Minimum of 2 years of banking experience.
1-2 years of customer service, sales, call center and or cash handling experience.
Strong customer contact skills, ability to meet people and sell bank services
Excellent verbal, listening and communications skills
Self-motivated; people oriented
Requires the ability to take initiative and utilize some independent judgment in decision making and proficiency in problem resolution.
Ability to work as part of a team with diverse backgrounds
Ability to work under pressure
General knowledge of all Microsoft Office products used by bank including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Strong numeric and grammatical aptitude
Excellent organization and follow through skills
Develop understanding of bank systems and central information files to identify banking relationships with customer and potential opportunities for conversation
Candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule including Saturdays.
