West Shore Bank in Ludington, Michigan, is expanding its marketing department and is recruiting a Marketing & Communications Specialist. The Marketing & Communications Specialist will be responsible for inbound marketing strategies, social media growth & management techniques, brand journalism and blog content development.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field and a minimum of 5 years marketing experience, strong written and verbal communication skills, and thorough knowledge of all types of social media and emerging trends.
The Marketing & Communications Specialist position is responsible for the administration of the Bank’s social media program, assisting with media and public relations activities and promoting a positive brand image throughout our local communities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement strategies for social media growth and engagement; manage postings, monitoring and integration with other communication touch points of the organization to proactively engage customers and prospects; develop social media posts, videos and graphics to drive brand awareness in compliance with the Bank’s Social Media Policy and Strategic Plan; implement strategies to reach target audiences; and review campaign performance and make recommendations for revising as necessary.
Monitor and regularly report Social Media engagement results and trends. Recommend process improvements or reporting tools to adequately assess results of social media campaigns.
Continually grow knowledge base of social media and marketing trends.
Manage Bank’s Blog including content writing and sourcing blog posts from other key staff.
Assure the Bank’s website content is updated with relevant resources and information to help customers with their financial needs; review website analytics and assist with SEO efforts.
Assist with development of inbound marketing strategies including email marketing tactics.
Assist with content development, event registration, and survey development to measure customer experience satisfaction utilizing the Bank’s marketing automation system. Track and report results.
Manage and coordinate community and public relations activities for the Bank. This includes events, donations and sponsorships, volunteer efforts, award submissions, press releases and articles.
Leverage marketing campaigns, when applicable, in public relations events and initiatives.
Manage marketing photography needs, including event photography for use on social media and in marketing materials.
Maintain media relationships and maintain distribution list to ensure timely publication of Bank press releases. Issue all Bank press releases.
Assist with development and implementation of special presentations and events aimed at improving financial literacy in the Bank’s communities.
Work with community organizations to identify areas where Bank employees have volunteer opportunities and track staff participation.
Communicate marketing, event and community initiatives in meaningful ways to staff to ensure employees are aware and engaged in the Bank’s activities and brand.
Coordinate payment and presentation of donations and community support to local organizations.
Maintain the Bank’s advertising and contribution records to meet audit and exam requirements in coordination with CRA Officer and the Compliance Department.
Coordinate the purchase of promotional items and maintain marketing inventory.
Assist with marketing requests and needs of Bank staff.
