The Commercial Banking Officer manages and expands the relationships with new and existing less complex commercial customers as assigned. The officer develops and manages less complex commercial and commercial real estate loans with existing customers, insuring that they meet established lending requirements and provide maximum profitability to TheBANK with a minimum of risk. The officer supervises underwriting, documentation, verifications, closing, and ensures compliance with policies and procedures involved with the credit process of less complex commercial loans. The officer also expands current relationships for TheBANK by referring and cross-sells other commercial products including Commercial Service products, Merchant Processing, and 401K retirement plans.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Originate in-bank commercial and commercial real estate loans with existing customers and consider verifications, credit reports, title work, appraisals, disclosures, and other documents in arriving at credit decisions on less complex commercial loans.
Determine analytical and underwriting feasibility regarding all areas of customers with less complex commercial loan requests
Monitor loan repayment activities and take necessary action to collect from past due accounts of assigned accounts and relationships with less complex commercial loans
Collect, monitor, and report on delinquent accounts and assist with the orderly liquidation of severely distressed less complex loan credits
Develop material for and make loan presentations to established loan approval authorities where required
Analyze and comply with all bank policies, practices, and procedures
Promote TheBANK's loan, retail, and trust products to potential and existing customers
Portfolio management on less complex commercial loans
Relationship management on less complex commercial loans
Increase TheBANK=s visibility and retain and expand business relationships by participating in community or other service programs, providing business management or financial information, cross-selling, and networking
Perform other duties as assigned
Requires decision making and interpretation of information and coordination with others with significant impact on the organization.
Thorough knowledge of commercial loan regulations
Ability to present, explain and sell commercial and commercial real estate products
College degree or certificate of training at the college degree level
1 to 3 years experience in commercial lending
Familiar with Word Processing and Spreadsheet programs
Ability to set priorities and deadlines with general guidelines within department
Requires a high degree of interpersonal skills that involve problem resolution, community relations and TheBANK’s image..
Working conditions often involve a moderate amount of intense concentration or mental stress
Advanced skills to analyze financial data.
