JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for research, analysis, and management of investment portfolios. Also responsible for the Bank’s financial model, including keeping assumptions up to date, general forecasting, and various presentation preparations.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Researches and monitors status reporting for trends and changes in the banking environment along with historical data for the financial institution, including economic trends, interest rate adjustments, and asset management.
Prepares or assists in forecasted financial statements for total bank and cost centers including the bank’s rolling 12-month forecast, what ifs for specific loan and deposit growths, and any other subsequent financial projections for example.
Responsible for profitability reporting by cost center or, if system available, by products.
Prepare and compile monthly materials for the Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO) and financial report packets for the Board of Directors.
Prepare or assist in developing clear and concise analysis of financial results and key financial measurements driving results in the departments, banking entities and consolidations, including explanations of variances between plan, prior year, and forecasts.
Prepares and monitors budgets, variance reports, and cash flow/liquidity analyses.
Develop appropriate trend analysis and graphs to improve financial reporting trends and risk management.
Assists in development of the financial institutions asset/liability model when necessary.
Assist in preparation of annual budget including forecasts and building updated ratios and allocation tables as needed.
Actively achieves individual sales, referral, operational, and community involvement goals.
Performs other related projects and duties as assigned; examples include managing LRA accretion methodology and data queries and spreadsheets for MSR valuation.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
Two to five years of experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, portfolio analysis, or a related area.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Strong MS Office Suite skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Solid financial and analytical skills including sound business judgement.
Ability to travel as needed.
